The founder of the Bayraktar Group. Cpt. Arif Bayraktar, started the business in his teens and manage to have a respectful carrier within the industry and in the Turkish shipping society. He was the one who gave his sons, the sprit at challenging and advised them only to move FAST FORWARD...

The company started off at 1920's in a small machinery industry where, pistons were repaired and shafts were maintained. Then the hard work resulted with a 150 dwcc coaster build by the company with ITS own capital, which was steaming between the Black Sea PORTS carrying coal and other COMMODITIES/GOODS for these towns. Not long time after that the company managed to purchase a wooden coaster "M/V Sanal" (1947) which was 250 dwcc, SHE WAS also CARRYING coal in Marmara Sea.

In 1976 the company established their own, side industrial factory which was located in the Golden Horn area in Istanbul, within two years, the second workshop was built and the technical department of the company presently located at Tuzla and still serving the shipowners on their technical problems. The whole aim was to build their own steel vessels with their own capital. The first steel CONSTUCTION vessel came into service on the late 1975. Then the second followed M/V Arif Kaptan which was 1250 dwcc and many others.

Bayraktar Group has grown through the expansion of existing core activities and BAYRAKTAR FLEET STEADILY growing with courage.
