Bayraktar Shipping Group's support of the Turkish shipping industry has been exemplary and at the same time it has established a series of firsts.

The company builds and operates mainly multi-purpose container vessels and was the first Turkish shipping company to construct a 1,300 teu container vessel in a Turkish shipyard. However building ships fly the Turkish flag. Bayraktar also created a first for Turkish shipyard with the construction of 58,000 dwt bulk carrier vessels. While Bayraktar is one of the oldest shipping companies in Turkey, its fleet is one of the youngest and it continues to compete successfully on the international market.
